Cannes – Sat Sept 23rd, 17 – Glittering Cannes is the archetypal Mediterranean resort city discovered by wealthy English nobles who came to the sunny south of France to escape their drafty old castles during the dreary British winters. Cannes’ high flying lifestyle has attracted notables and every year, the stars flock to celebrate the Cannes Film Festival at the colossal Palais des Festivals.
Saturday 24th of September Portofino, Italy – Portofino is a fishing village on the Italian Riveria coastline. It’s pastel-coloured houses, luxury boutiques and seafood restaurants surround its Piazzetta, a small cobbled square overlooking the harbor, which is lined with super-yachts.
Monday September 25th L’ile Rousse, Corsica, France– Crowded with yachts flying burgees from the world’s most prestigious yacht clubs, the harbour of St. Florent is a regatta of colours. Take an excursion to the peninsula of Cap Corse, where medieval watchtowers dot the cliff tops every few miles.
Tuesday 26th September 2017 Calvi, Corsica, France – From the perfume of the maquis to its wild and mountainous landscape. Nearby are secluded beaches and the eerie Grottes des Veaux Marins, offering fantastic diving opportunities.
Wednesday 27th September 2017 Porto, Corsica, France -Porto is in the centre of some of the most scenic places in Corsica and many visitors come here. Take a stroll through the bustling waterfront or explore the Calanche de Plana, red cliffs that plunge into the Mediterranean and The Gorges de Spelunca in west Corsica is a lovely river valley that passes through the mountains.
Wednesday 27th September 2017 Sailing through Scandola Nature Reserve is really only accessible by boat so sailing through some of the finest coastline to be found anywhere in Corsica on a Tall ship is perfect. Unusual rock formations emerge from the crystal clear sea in the Gulf of Girolata, and the coastline is littered with jagged inlets and caves. There is a wide range of sea birds – including cormorants and giant gulls and there are also established seal and dolphin colonies in the region.
Thursday September 28th, 2017 Porquerolles, Iles d’Hyeres, France- Porquerolles is a small island that is popular with cyclists. On the southern side the coast is made up of steep cliffs and secluded creeks only accessible to hikers and on the northern side you will find fine sand beaches and clear turquoise waters. A large area enjoys National Park status so the island is beautiful, calm and un-spoilt.
Thursday 28th September 2017 Sanary-sur-Mer, France– The island’s little town was created as a retirement community for Napoleon’s troops – making it the world’s first “Sun City.” Today Porquerolles is a destination for nature lovers, who hike the hills covered in sage, myrtle, and oddly exotic plants to a magnificent white sand beach where a picturesque lighthouse stands guard over the wild shore.
Friday 29th September 2017 St Tropez beach, France– St. Tropez is a people-watcher’s paradise, so you will also want to explore her famous beaches, bistros and bars. The Tahiti Plage is where topless sun tanning started, and whether you prefer to take it off or take it all in, there’s always plenty to see in St. Tropez.
